1. Injection moulding IML
Injection moulding refers to a manufacturing process that is used for producing parts through injecting molten material into a mould. This process is generally performed with thermoplastic as well as thermosetting polymers. Besides this, injection moulding can be performed with a host of materials including glasses, metals, confections, elastomers, and many more. This technique is used for all kinds of containers like yogurt pots, butter tubs, and many more. IML for injection moulding means that the decoration of the product will take place in the mould. 2. Blow moulding IML
Blow moulding IML is a manufacturing process through which hollow plastic parts are formed as well as can be joined together. Moreover, this process can be used for forming glass bottles as well as other hollow shapes. Generally, there are three types of blow moulding including injection blow moulding, extrusion blow moulding, as well as injection stretch blow moulding. The process begins with the melting down of the plastic and forming it into a parison that is a tube-like piece of plastic with a hole in one end. After that, the parison is clamped into the mould and air is blown. The pressure of the air pushes the plastic out in order to match the mould. After the plastic is cooled and hardened, the mould will open up and the part is ejected. This process is used to produce containers for liquids like deep frying oil.
3. Thermoforming IML
It is a technique that is used for heating a plastic sheet to a pliable forming temperature and forming a specific shape of mould that is later trimmed to create a usable product. The ‘film’ or sheet while referring to certain material types and other thinner gauges, is heated in such a way which permits this to be stretched onto or into the mould and then cooled to a finished to a finished shape. This process is often used for producing barrier packages. In such a case, the multi-layer sheets are converted into oxygen barrier and light barrier packages.
